Wow - I am so excited to announce that I am now a weekly featured columnist for the blog Biggerpockets.com.  This is very exciting for me!  I am not sure if you all know about biggerpockets yet - and it you don't, you should. 

www.biggerpockets.com is a national website/blog for real estate investors.  It was started by Joshua Dorkin in order to create a real estate investors site that was a pitch free zone.  It is a great site that I have been going to for about a year now, however just recently started to participate on the forums.

100% financing still available?

We had a wonderful woman come speak at one of our club meetings from Bank of America named Kathleen Hayes.  She specializes in affordable housing financing options. CalHFA (a mortgage revenue bond) and a couple of B of A specialty programs are the only programs on the market now that are still 100% financing in declining markets.

Now that the House has passed a "temporary" raise in the limits for loans that qualify for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac it will be interesting to see what happens.  (And for all those who don't speak "government"  - the english word for temporary is forever.)

REI Club opening in Anaheim?

Well it's official!  Real Estate Investor Michael Quarles will be opening a real estate investors club in Anaheim!  This should be interesting...  He called Phyllis Rockower of REIC of LA yesterday to let her know. 

I think this can be a good thing. I know there seems to be a need out there for a good club.  I don't know how much Michael knows about running a club, but he is driven and ambitious and he is smart enough to get a good team together to do it!  I'm sure I'll hear a knock on my door very soon...

Fine with me.  I like working the barter system - he has plenty that I could benefit from!  I am about to open another PACRats group out there, so perhaps we can do cross promotion?
